As the founder and Managing Director of Aspire Executive Search Ltd I have worked extensively within the financial services arena for the past 18 years. Recruiting from mid level executives to more senior appointments within the wealth management and banking arena, I have honed my skill set and developed invaluable industry knowledge and expertise.

Building a solid reputation for being insightful, dedicated and passionate, I have earned not only the trust and respect, but also the friendship of many candidates and clients along my journey. This really has been such an enjoyable part of my career as I feel that Aspire delivers a really human experience that can differentiate us in the market place. With a Chemistry degree and starting my working life in IT recruitment I can honestly say I am pleased to have carved out a career in the ever evolving world of financial services. Now, building the Aspire business and brand and having the opportunity to work with a fantastic team, I am really excited for the future and where we can enhance our delivery proposition. The journey continues and I cant wait!

Outside of work I like to fill every minute with as many life experiences as possible. I have two small children, a puppy, I love running, fitness, food, beaches, mountains, forests, my family and friends and my bike. My motivation has always been to seek out adventure and to make the most of any opportunities (and to create my own). I love life and want to make it as fun and as memorable as I can. Making memories has always been my motto.

Financial Services Recruitment Specialist

Having commenced my recruitment career in a high street branch and winning many awards for my achievements, I was approached by a client to join them internally and recruit for their Financial Adviser’s stream nationally. This was my first step into the world of Financial Services and I was hooked!

Since then, I have worked mainly in-house for some fantastic organisations with my main remit recruiting talented Financial Advisers for both employed and self-employed positions. I have also sourced and supported those individuals who were seeking a better ‘home’ for their growing businesses and client banks.. Those that know me will tell you how passionate I am about recruitment and I have established a highly credible reputation over the years founded on honesty, integrity, energy and diligence. As evidenced by my rich and diverse network, the relationships I have built are strong and I enjoy investing in and nurturing new relationships which are often the product of referrals.

I now find myself full circle and joining Aspire Executive Search Ltd at such an exciting time. Having known Rachael for many years it felt a natural move to make as our values and ethics mirror and complement each other. Quality over quantity is my motto. My decision to move back to Consultancy was born out of a desire to provide both candidates and clients an impartial, personalised and tailored service, where I can utilise my skill set to match the right candidate to the best cultural home.

Outside of work I love travel, food, travel, cats, yoga and more travel (not all at the same time!). This beautiful world is there to be explored and I love to discover new places - the hubby and I are very acclimatised to a plane hopping life. For me, it’s really important to enjoy life as much as possible and have a good sense of humour – this isn’t the dress rehearsal. Live, Love, Laugh, you only live once.

Carly McGrogan

Business Support Manager

I joined the Aspire team in 2017 to support the business growth and delivery. In my role, I am candidate and client facing and I liaise with external parties to support logistical, technical and administrative functions. For Aspire, I work closely with Rachael to develop the business strategy and to deliver marketing support as well as the financial control and day to day running of the organisation.

I love the diversity of my role, no two days are the same and having the opportunity to work with the fantastic Aspire team makes me smile – something I do lots of.

I came from a background in Working Capital consultancy and project management meaning I have worked with some of the largest organisations across the globe, operating at a senior level and utilising a range of skill sets. Many of these attributes I am able to deploy in my role as Business Support Manager within Aspire.

Outside of the office, I have two small children and a keen pursuit of fitness – kickboxing, netball and swimming to name a few. I am also in a small band and love my guitar and try to perform as much as I can. Music is really important in my life and brings me happiness (and more smiling).

Helen Spriggs

Financial Services Recruitment Specialist

After graduating from the University of Leeds I spent my first few years working on behalf of a major Financial Services organisation within a Sales capacity. I was then approached by a national recruitment firm to recruit within the Financial Services and General Insurance industries, which I found to be a fulfilling career move, and here I am recruiting many years later!

Since entering the world of recruitment I have been fortunate to have had longevity with a small number of excellent recruitment firms. My strengths lie in pinpointing a client’s need and delivering great people. My clients describe me as ‘personable, reliable, and understanding of their business needs’.
From a candidate perspective I truly listen and pride myself on offering a ‘down to earth’ approach. Over the years I have been described by a number of candidates as ‘professional, genuine and knowledgeable’.

For the last four years I have specialised solely in the placing of Financial Services individuals within Technical Support roles. These roles include Paraplanners, Support Administrators, Office Managers and Trainee Paraplanners. I enjoy giving focus to these roles and providing the best service that I possibly can to all. I am thoroughly delighted I decided to join Aspire Executive Search Ltd and to work with Rachael and the team, as I feel that we have an excellent connection and our values and ethics mirror and complement each other.

Outside of work time I love spending time with my family and exploring together on fun ‘days out’. I really enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes and brushing up on my skills. I find cooking very good for relieving any unwanted tension! I have previously trained with the Yorkshire college of Music and Drama within classical singing, and I enjoy undertaking musical projects. I want to live life to the fullest and believe in the old saying that ‘life is a song, and love is the music’.

David Jones

Financial Services Recruitment Specialist

I am proven and published recruitment specialist and headhunter with 20 years experience of recruiting across the UK, EMEA and Asia Pacific.

After spending the first 10 years recruiting and managing teams across Sales & Commercial recruitment for the Executive Network Group (part of the Pertemps Group) I took a life changing decision and moved to Singapore in 2010 to help a number of start-up and boutique firms to establish their presence in the Asia Pacific market. It was an amazing 7 years which saw me travel to and work with clients in Hong Kong, China, Japan and most of South East Asia.

Having now returned to the UK, I’m very much looking forward to helping Aspire Executive Search to become a key player in the Financial Services recruitment sector and having known for Rachael since 2002 it was an easy decision to join and help to grow the business here at Aspire.

Outside of work I like to travel and explore new cultures and cuisines. I’m a keen badminton player and golfer. I also enjoy cooking up a storm in the kitchen and up-cycling furniture when I get time.
